MASTERY FORM LINKS Determining limits algebraically : specific property of sinx/x at 0 approaching infinity/ neg inf End Behavior Model ***Sorry Cresswell but starting now I will use a consistent way of recording ( camera;not horizontal/vertical switches) but it it is quite un professional the first few videos |

I got wrecked on the pre-req. I think it was a good wake up call that told me I needed to set aside time for Math. But hey, Math right, should always have math homework and study every night right? I guess it is nice not understanding something right away so it gives some sort of meaning to actually taking time to study the subject but usually I am quite the quick learner. I don't know why or how I keep making those stupid little label mistakes but it I need to take my time. I'm glad there is a mastery correction thing you can do though because I believe that will help me a ton! It is kinda a bummer that I have to rely on that, but hopefully as the year progresses things will start to change. I basically got the hang of limits and continuity, and hopefully I can prove it so by the next quiz. On the mastery form however I will demonstrate how I know how to do simple algebra, finding the correct domain and range,horizontal/vertical asymptotes and holes, and mastering concavity. I will upload a link on this blog once I have completed it and it can be found by clicking the linked words in the previous sentence. All in all, with homecoming week coming up I hope things won't get too stressful and I will enjoy the start to the end of my high school career. Oh and by the way Ms. Krauss or Cross is pretty awesome... she allows me to solve my way to the answer when I have a question rather than straight up giving it. I appreciate that so kudos to her. Until next week! This week we learned limits. The limit does not exist could not be misquoted so many times in one hour. I think the exploration and then the formal introduction of the limits was definitely a new thing and I kinda liked it. Sure at first it was a tiny bit overwhelming but that was just because I simply didn't know what the heck a limit was... To my understanding however, I comprehend the purpose of limits and caught the hang of it. It was a new style of learning and was definitely something I'll remember when I find out which style best suits me. I love, absolutely enjoy, the environment of first hour AP Calculus. It is so chill and not forced, it's small but not to small, and I have great peers around me. I wonder where you were Mr. Cresswell on Friday, but nevertheless the sub seemed to not really know what she was doing. I am curious about the work flow or frequency of homework in this class. Like would there be homework every night, are you a packet type guy, or is it going to be nice and distributed fairly... in both perspectives. I am prepared to learn more about limits and their properties and whatever is down the path of calculus. Have i mentioned this was the first time that I sat in pods? I don't remember ever sitting like that but it is different and I don't know if I'd learn more like that but I like it. I feel more included in discussions and can now ask my friends peers questions with ease. Overall, I am proud to say that i do not dread going to Calc. I find it informative, beneficial, and I guess fun. First week of school went fairly smooth. The schedule looks good, and it is not too easy because of AP Calc...Not saying it is the only hard class but it is definitely going to be the most challenging compared to my other APs. The pre req pack definitely was a good wakeup call that I need to study up this weekend for the test on Monday. The most I have to brush up on would probably be the logarithms and natural logs and all the e to the power of x kind of problems. I seem to have gotten back on the train a little bit but am still not confident. If you were to give me the test right now I would probably struggle a ton because all of the things I have forgotten to do. Some of the things I can get to the like 3rd or 4th step but then I just blank out. The similar triangles are a nice breeze, reminds me of geometry class all the way back in 9th grade. So this week, with the help of you Mr. Cresswell, the students around me, and the student teacher I was able to relearn or jog my memory of most of the things I forgot. I’d like to look on the bright side and reason with myself that at least I am still in this class (didn’t drop it) and am confident that I can do well. The test on Monday can go either ways though, I will either be satisfied with my work or be fairly disappointed and really need to catch up and put in the hours to study. What will not change though is my work ethic and how much effort I will put in, because in the larger scale of things I plan to take the AP exam and score well enough that I will be happy with myself. |
